Elizabeth (Elee) Wood, PHD

Museums, education, and the power of play have shaped Elee’s career for more than three decades. Before becoming Chief Executive Officer of Imagine Children’s Museum, she held leadership and education roles at Minnesota Children’s Museum, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, and The Huntington. She also spent more than a decade as a professor and museum studies leader. Elee holds a PhD in Education for Community, a master’s degree in Youth Development Leadership, and a bachelor’s degree in Dramatic Arts.

At Imagine, Elee has brought new energy, big ideas, and plenty of color to the Museum. She believes children’s museums should be joyful places where kids and their grownups can follow their curiosity, learn together, and experience the freedom of playing like a kid.

Elee wears many hats, sometimes literally. As the Commodore of Curiosity, she dons a colorful captain’s hat to champion The Imagination League and invite others aboard Imagine’s mission. Elee brings curiosity, creativity, and a genuine love of play to her important role at Imagine!

Tia Winch

Strong financial and operational leadership have been at the heart of Tia’s nearly 30-year career. As Imagine’s Chief Financial and Operations Officer, she draws on experience spanning accounting, human resources, business operations, and nonprofit leadership. Her background includes more than 13 years in nonprofit finance and leadership, along with 13 years in accounting for a Fortune 500 corporation. She holds a Master of Science in Management and Leadership, a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

After years in the corporate world, Tia chose to bring her experience to the nonprofit sector because she wanted her work to directly benefit her community. At Imagine, she helps build the financial clarity, stability, and strong internal operations that allow the Museum and its mission to grow. She especially loves how many different experiences children can find here such as creating in the Art Hangout, performing in the Theatre, or reading quietly in PJ’s Place to name just a few!

Outside of work, Tia enjoys cooking, baking, hiking, and diving. She is also a proud grandmother and is always ready for a new adventure. The coolest thing she has ever done? A shark dive!
