We can’t wait to meet you! Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, we want your day to be full of wonder. Here are answers to the questions families ask us most, so you can arrive ready to play.
What are your hours?
We are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday–Sunday. Holiday hours will be posted on our website as needed.
What is the cost of admission?
General admission is $22.50 per person. Discounted admission is available for the following groups:
- Museums for All: Cardholders of Apple Health, CHIP, EBT, Foster Parent cards, Provider One, SNAP, Sun Bucks, or WIC can receive admission at $5 per person for up to four (4) family members in the same household. A valid photo ID and a valid card are required. This discount does not apply to P-EBT cardholders.
- Military: $19.50 (ID required)
- Seniors: $19.50 (Age 65 and over)
Do you offer discounted admission days?
Yes! General admission is half-price every Tuesday and Wednesday.
What age range does the Museum serve?
Imagine is a self-guided facility for children and their adult caregivers. The Museum is designed to inspire joy, wonder, and a love of learning through play, with hands-on, interactive exhibits for children aged 1–12. Our Seashore exhibit is specifically designed for children aged 3 and under.
May I drop off my child?
No. Children must be supervised by an adult aged 18 or older at all times. Adults must remain with children in the same area on the same floor, and must accompany children when using the elevators.
Can someone else use my membership?
Memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable. A maximum of two adults can be listed on each membership card. For the Two Fun and Grandparent Fun memberships, an adult named on the card must be present when children covered by the card visit the Museum. Photo ID may be required at check-in.
When is the best time to avoid crowds?
Generally, late weekday afternoons are the least crowded. However, this may not be the case during holiday breaks and other days when area schools are closed.
How is the Museum cleaned?
The Museum is professionally cleaned every evening, and staff clean and sanitize throughout the day. All restrooms are attended and cleaned regularly by our restroom attendant.
Is the Museum accessible to people who use wheelchairs and others with limited mobility?
Imagine Children’s Museum is committed to providing an accessible and interactive experience for all. The Museum is equipped with elevators, and many exhibit areas are wheelchair accessible. Accessible parking spots are available in pre-pay lots and on surrounding streets. See our Floor Map to learn more about the Museum’s layout.
Does the Museum provide resources for sensory-sensitive visitors?
Diverse learners may enjoy reading our social story about visiting the Museum during regular hours. A limited number of sound-reducing earmuffs and sunglasses are available to borrow from the front desk to help reduce noise and light stimulation. The Museum also offers special access through our monthly Sensory Time program; registration is required.
Are there resources available for non-English speakers?
The Museum’s Social Story is available in the following languages: Chinese, Dari, English, Hindi, Spanish, Tamil, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
We also offer bilingual programs:
- Playing with Music / Jugando con Música: An exciting bilingual (English and Spanish) music program for kids and families.
- Little Science Lab / Pequeño Laboratorio de Ciencias: A FREE hands-on, interactive program for preschoolers and their caregivers, offered by Imagine educators at local libraries in English and Spanish. Time and locations vary.
Is food available for purchase? May I bring my own food and drinks?
Food and beverages are allowed only in our third-floor multipurpose area, home of Divy’s Grab & Go Food Truck, which offers a range of yummy snacks, meals, and drinks for purchase. You’re also welcome to bring your own snack or lunch to enjoy there. To keep the space comfortable for everyone, outside party food such as cakes, cupcakes, or ice cream isn’t permitted (treats purchased on site are always welcome!), and tables cannot be reserved, held, or moved. Food and beverages, including water, are not allowed on the exhibit floors or the rooftop play area. For your convenience, water fountains are provided on all floors of the Museum.
Are strollers allowed inside?
For the safety of all visitors, strollers are not permitted on the Museum floor. Please leave your stroller in your vehicle or leave it at our designated stroller parking area in the lobby. Access is allowed on a case by case scenario; please visit the front desk upon check-in.
May I shop at Adventure Toys, the Museum's retail store, without paying admission?
Yes! Adventure Toys is open to the public whenever the Museum is open. Please note that the store cannot accept EBT cards.
May I host my child's birthday party or other celebration at Imagine?
Yes, we’d love to help you do it right! Imagine offers daytime birthday and celebration packages, including private rooms, as well as private after-hours parties and events.
To keep the Museum welcoming for everyone and protect our exhibits, personal celebrations are only permitted in our booked party spaces. This means we’re unable to allow outside decorations (such as balloons, banners, candles, confetti, glitter, sparklers, or table settings) or group activities that may disrupt other visitors’ experience within the Museum.
